Uncertainty is not your friend. Not in your life and certainly not in your business.
If, on a cold day with light disappearing from the sky, you either are out for an enjoyable walk or immersed in some serious shopping in an unfamiliar city you need to know how to get to your car or a comfortable, safe place to stay for the night. Imagine some of the things that could happen if because of uncertainty you did nothing.
Uncertainty implies you don?t know what direction to take. As a result you stand still, totally lost in confusion or overwhelm. (See previous recent blogs for help with these subjects). Without a plan there can be no forward movement, no progress. What you need in these life situations are the very same things you need to manage and grow your business.
- Be clear about where you are. ?Stay Found ?.? After all, if you are not ?Found,? what are you? You are ?Lost. By ?Staying Found?? I mean:
- Be centered.
- Know where you are at this present moment.
- Have and use tools like a map. This will direct you to your destination via a route of least effort.
- You need guides in the form of a mentor and proven systems plus your inner knowing
Wouldn?t you gather, use and implement tools and guides such as a compass, a good map, energy providing snacks, proper clothes appropriate for the weather when going on a trip to an unfamiliar area? Your solo entrepreneur business is no different. It too requires direction, tools and guides.
Solo entrepreneurs, like everyone, have way too many choices of direction available to them in these info abundant times. One mentor guide says ?do this? but then another mentor guide says ?do something else.? You can become so confused you do no longer know where you are or what direction to take. Trying to follow many mentors can only result in overwhelm and confusion, false starts and stops and random changes of direction. All of these lead to: ?slow or no growth?.?
You need to decide where you want to go from the point you are at right now. Then you need to decide what the very next step is for you. Sure, sometimes you adjust our course of action as conditions change and discoveries are made along the way. And your destination, your goal, can and will change as you and your business both expand and grow.
For now though, you need to decide how you will get to your destination. What path will you take? Different guide mentors will offer different routes. How do you pick the mentor guide that is right for you?
