Madison Mayor Paul Soglin plans to submit a resolution to make the city's motto "77 Square Miles Surrounded by Reality," with a provision to change the size as the city continues to grow.
It's meant to be a geographically accurate take-off on former Gov. Lee Sherman Dreyfus' declaration 35 years ago that "Madison is 30 square miles surrounded by reality."
He's serious about the idea, the State Journal reports.
